Reflections

The biggest piece of work I am most proud of is the Homo Erectus project, where we had to make a model of the daily life of Homo Erectus, using clay and other objects. And after that we had to research about it and present it in class with my partner, we got and A+ on it, and the fact that 2 of our partners wasn't here that time, and we had extra work to do, and yet we had and A+ made me really proud of this project. My biggest challenge is getting organized in class, I often have time finding my homework and sometimes I forget to save it or didn't bring it. I learned as a learner that middle school is very different from 5th grade, and 6th grade is the toughest year, you have to have neat lockers, hand in work on time, different teachers, different friends in the classes, and very very busy. My behavior is satisfactory, because I am sometimes not focused, and get distracted by my peers easily. I often participate in class in activities by providing thoughts and suggestions. My organization needs help because I often can't find my homework or left it at home, but I'm improving on it. I put a lot of effort in my work to get good grades, I prefer quality and quantity. In 7th grade I plan to improve my organization and behavior!

Save our earth (We only have one!)

I think that the world today is contributing much more to global warming than it did in the last generations, if we keep continuing to destroy our earth by polluting, garbage, plastic, etc. These help to destroy our earth, animals are dying, the arctic is melting, the ocean is polluted, countries are over populated with people and cars, etc. The world is on the brink of destruction, and only we can save it, starting from you, and it doesn't end there... We can help to save the worlds by turning of extra lights, especially when you don't need it. You could also bath in a shorter time, don't leave water taps running, electricity and water pollution are the main problems to bad air and seas. Another important thing is to not use plastic, plastic take more than 1000 years to disintegrate, would you want your grandchildren to live beside garbage dumps, do you want them to know that the end of the world is near? No, so stop using plastic things! If you watch the inconvenient truth, it shows alot of things that are happening to the world, and that the end of the world is near if we don't do something about it, it tells you what really happens to that plastic bottle you threw in the trash, and how it ended up in the ocean, killing seabirds, and sea creatures, making animal homeless too. Sometimes humans are so ignorant of want actually happens later and that they can't be bothered to know whats beyond that curtain. So save the earth, there is more than 100 ways to do it, remember every little think contributes, even the earth hour, which is just a kick start beggining of saving our world, everyone likes the world to be like Utopia!!

About Malaysia week!!

Hello again! I just got back from Malaysia week less than 4 days ago, and the trip is still fresh in my mind. We set off by bus in the school on Sunday and the journey was "6 to 8" hours, pretty long right? Any way I past time by thinking off random things, including about my Runescape account. =) While, when we reach there we had a 40 minute boat ride to the island to set up our camp, the boat ride was fun because we were traveling full speed with the wind on our face and hair, and when it drizzled our faces felt kind of cool and damp, it was a fun experience. After setting up our camp we spent the rest 5 days doing various activities consisting of trekking steep tracks full of leaches that try to crawl up your shoe and hang on leaves ready to jump and ambush you. We also had some bamboo rafting, hiking, water activities, survival skills, night walk, fishing, visiting the forest tribes, and free time in the lake! It was fun!
And in my spring break, we are going Cangkor Laut, which is near the sea, we are staying there for 3 days. Our holiday is 7 days so there's lots of free time! I hope you enjoy your spring break too!

Hey students in memphis!

Hi!!!! My name is Sean and I live in Singapore, well used to... This is currently my second International school I've been to and my previous and first international school was in Jakarta, JIS. Singapore is a great country and I recommend you to go there, but it's pretty strict about rules and laws. ISKL is a good school, though I think JIS is better for that was my first and best school. Now, I am going to describe Malaysia, because I am told to... =P
Malaysia is a nice place, it is near the equator and people there receive hot heat and pouring rain from the merciless forces of nature, but it doesn't snow. Unfortunately. There are different races, meaning different food. I love food!!! And in Malaysia you get to savor many different Asian cultural food and tradition.
My daily life in Malaysia might bore you a little, but anyways, school starts at 8am sharp, and I wake up at 6.30, I take quite a while to eat breakfast, and it's always me to have to wait for my horrid 8th grade sister... she's bad. really, she is. If you have a sibling you'll know.... Really. No joking. Yeah, so after getting ready we hop into the car and go to ISKl. When you reach ISKL you go to homegroup first, a place where you can chill, read a book, play a game, or get some more sleep, but it lasts for only 15 minutes. We have 4 classes, and in between the classes we have breaks, so it's a class, than a 10 minute break, than a class, and than lunch which is 50 minutes, and after lunch we have another class, than another 10 minute break, and we have class again. One thing I like about this international school is because they have breaks in between classes so you can get your next class folders ready, and maybe grab a snack, last I like the way lunch is 50 minutes! Why....? Because I love food!!!! Fact about me, I prefer eating with a fork than a spoon.
